SMH-1 Microphone Shock Mount

(1 customer review)

$40.00

Universal shock-mount microphone holder with integral shoe stand. Fits most Azden XLR shotgun microphones.

Description

SMH-1 is a suspension style shock-mount microphone holder with a standard size shoe mount for camera top and boom pole mounting. The mount’s four suspension bands hold a shotgun microphone firmly in place while isolating it from handling noise and vibrations. The SMH-1 works best with shotgun microphones with a diameter of 18 – 22 mm and a length between 200 – 400 mm.

The SMH-1 is the direct replacement mount sold with the SGM-1X, SGM-2X and SGM-1000 microphones. It will also work well with the SGM-250 and SGM-250P models.

Not-so-shockingly big improvement over original equipment

Most cameras have a spot for a shotgun mic but it’s usually not equipped with a shock mount. This Azden shock mount slips into the camera’s cold shoe and is a nice upgrade from the non-shock mounts. Your ambient sound will be less affected by the bumps and jostles camera mics take during run-and-gun operations. Plus, it grips the shotgun with its suspension bands. Many OEM shotgun holders on cameras require you to use a rubber insert so your shotgun will fit snugly. That’s not an issue if your shotgun is included in the sizes listed in the description. I’ve used this mount on many shoots in some rough conditions. It’s never failed me and does exactly the job it’s supposed to do. All that for a very reasonable price.
