PRO-XD Battery Replacement Program

Azden’s PRO-XD Digital Wireless Microphone System transmitter and receiver components are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. While this has many advantages, the nature of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries is such that their capacity to hold a charge diminishes gradually over time. Unfortunately the batteries inside the PRO-XD transmitter and receiver are not user replaceable.

But we at Azden don’t want this intrinsic nature of the lithium-ion battery to be a limitation on the lifespan of your PRO-XD system! That is why we are offering this battery replacement program.

If you are finding that your PRO-XD transmitter and receiver are running down their batteries faster than when they were brand new, you may send the units to Azden to have them replaced by our technicians.

How it works

  1. Fill out and submit the form below. When prompted complete payment.
  2. Look in your inbox for a confirmation email with instructions on how to send your units.
  3. The most important step! Send us the transmitter and/or receiver PRO-XD units that need battery replacements.
  4. Please allow 3-4 weeks for your repair to be completed and returned to you.

PRO-XD Battery FAQ

The “lifespan” should be about 300 charge cycles, which approximates usage of 2,625 hours for the transmitter and 3,600 hours for the receiver. How this translates in “years” depends on how often the system is used and charged. Here are some examples using the spec for the transmitter:

Bear in mind the lifespan would be longer for the receiver.

Once the batteries reach the 300 cycle mark, it is not that they will cease to operate. They will continue to work with about 50% of their original charge capacity. For some users this may still be acceptable as it would approximate 5.5 hours use time on the transmitter and 8 hours use time on the receiver.

The email should arrive with in a few seconds but in some cases it may take a few minutes. Wait at least 10 minutes before assuming it was not received. Please also be sure to check your spam folder. If you never receive the confirmation email, send an email to our support team at support@azden.com.
In most cases we will ship the units back by USPS first class. However, we may decide to use a different carrier when necessary. For international customers be aware: when we ship by U.S. Postal Service the final delivery is made by the destination country’s own postal system. Because we use the most affordable shipping method available, unfortunately tracking is not available for international customers.
The fee does not cover the expense of shipping by expedited methods. However, we can ship by UPS or FedEx overnight, 2nd day, 3rd day or international If you are willing to pay the extra cost. Email us at support@azden.com to get a shipping quote. We may also ship using your UPS or FedEx account if you have one.
Payment is collected through PayPal’s 100% secure network and you’re protected under PayPal’s safety and security policies. We at Azden never receive or store your credit card information.

Sorry but no. The batteries are not user replaceable and we do not recommend users try to perform this repair themselves.

No. The cost of shipping is the responsibility of the customer. You may use any carrier you prefer to ship the units to us. Return shipping is included in the service fee.

Our form is limited to 4 units at a time because of the way it calculates the fee according to the ship-to location. You are welcome to submit multiple forms if you have more than 4 units in need of repair.
If you are the first purchaser of your PRO-XD and made the purchase no longer than 2 years ago, then your PRO-XD is covered under our manufacturer warranty. You should not fill out this form. Instead, go to https://warranty.azden.com to register your system (if you have not already) and submit a warranty service request there.
Please only send the transmitter and/or receiver units. If you include any other accessories (microphones, cables, bags, chargers, etc.) we cannot guarantee that they will be returned to you.
